  • 6 - Pep Guardiola has gone six games without a win for the first time in his managerial career. Slump. Other managers would kill for that stat though. Just saying

EFL Cup

Manchester United 1- 0 Manchester City

I watched this match yesterday. Mourinho put out a strong side yesterday, whereas Guardiola had a bit more rotation

Juan Mata was the hero, tbh

People were expecting this heated rivalry between Mourinho and Guardiola. I mean, they might never be friends again, but a lot of water has gone under the bridge, and both are having interesting times in their careers at the mo. Perspective, people

Herrera and Mata were class on the night. Pogba and Ibra weren't so great

Gossip re: Mourinho. He has yet to find a home near Manchester United, and is still living in the hotel in the centre. His family live (and are happy) in London, and he doesn't want to uproot them to Manchester. Supposed this is affecting his mindset? Supposedly he's now distant with his players and whatnot

A very physical match. I'm not a fan of either team, but I enjoyed it as a match in and of itself

West Ham 2- 1 Chelsea

The action was off the field, not on it. The West Ham and Chelsea supporters kicked off.

West Ham got an early goal in the game and saw it through

Riot police showed up at the match. There's supposedly tension between the West Ham owners (who rent the stadium for peppercorn money) and the London Stadium owners. The owners don't want to put the money in their pockets for increased police presence, and the owners are loathe to put more towards the security because terms have already been agreed. The West Ham fans are livid because with the more intense rivalries (Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal...) the more acute the fights become
