- Jose Mourinho to Manchester United: Chelsea still own rights to Portuguese coach's name It boils down to Manchester United will have to pay for Jose Mourinho's naming rights from Chelsea. Chelsea even have trademarked the name Chelski
- Rafa Benitez goes from Real Madrid to the Championship in 12 months after staying on as Newcastle boss on three-year deal
Benitez has FULL CONTROL over everything. From transfers to academy lads. He'll do well by the club, tbh. Take care of him, Newcastle!
- Tottenham and England star Dele Alli set to join the elite as £8m adidas poster boy
I heard murmurings about this. It was still going ahead even after his end of season wobble. Sponsorships by Adidas, Beats by Dr Dre... he'll make some potential WAG very happy. He's being paid more to advertise than he's being paid to play. GDI

Xhaka in kit for Arsenal
What's with the line splitting the torso
I won't wear an Arsenal kit for reasons, but this one looks decent
Messi doesn't particularly do it for *me*, but he has lovely hair (the thick, dark shock of it) and I like his nose
Out and about
Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny married his fiancee, Marina Luczenko, in a lavish ceremony</i>
Luczenko is a model and a singer (typical), and is popular in Eastern Europe according to the newspapers
PUMA puts its foot in when it comes to the Italian kit. Look at this beauty! The kit, not the player. I'm surprised that he's still alive, tbh. But at least he seems to be in Italian contention. Balotelli is... Balotelli
Gigi! People expected the young Milan goalie to be called up for International Duty but that wasn't to be. :*(
Phwoaarrr, I dig this kit. For real, I might have to take a kit on my card and get it
Marcus Rashford might get a cap. Daniel Sturridge is injured (again!). I have some feelings about Studge that are almost traitorous. Liiiike, I don't know if he suits the NT as it's set up now. Let's see what Rashford does
How tall is Rashford? According to Transfermarkt he's 1.8 m. Football forced me to embrace metric quicker than the EU regulations did. The English NT is getting taller.
All sorts of gossip around the players in the England camp. Andros Townsend is being linked with Sporting (!), and with Dier originally from Sporting, he's probably bending his ear
Eric Dier is a player who's coming into prominence. His life story is a pretty interesting one. I wonder if he knows Barkley from his time at Everton. Dier was at Finch Farm (Everton's School of Science) for eighteen months on loan from Sporting. He left Sporting shortly after the Everton loan, and sold to Tottenham for £4 million
So. Eric Dier. Quick life story, born in England and lived here until he was seven/eight? His mum got a job in Portugal and the whole family relocated there. He has a bit of football history, as his grandfather was Ted Croker, a former secretary of The Football Association (FA) and president of Cheltenham Town. He famously clashed with Margaret Thatcher in terms of how football fans were treated. Dier spent 10 years in Portugal, got into the academy system with Sporting CP. Spent eighteen months with Everton on loan (at the suggestion of his father, supposedly as a kick up his backside). Was one of Pochettino's first buys when he came to Spurs. If you want a profile of a Mauricio Pochettino player, Dier is it.
For a time, conventional wisdom had it that Dier would have been capped by Portugal. Because he was abroad, the English FA didn't really have him on their radar (he was called up for youth games, but wasn't really pushed as 'the future'). It helped that Dier speaks Portuguese fluently, has had Portuguese girlfriend(s) (his current gf is Portuguese, iirc) and the rest of it. But he says that it was never a conversation
Ugh to the England kit. WTF is this?! Sorry. Sorry. ANYWAY. Dier came to Spurs, and refused an England U21 call up in 2014/15 because they wanted him to play as RB, but he wanted to stay behind and solidify himself as a CB. In 2015/16 Pochettino converted him to a DM because he couldn't get Schnederlin or Mané. A lot of people were surprised that other players got called up over Dier (especially in light of England's defensive frailties) until Hodgson got a clue and he got called up. With the call up, Eric Dier became the 10th player under Mauricio Pochettino to get their maiden call up to the English NT (out of the sixteen England players who've made their debut for the English NT, Pochettino has trained 10 of them).
Anyway, Dier has called on England to be less honest, and more cynical. His time in the Portuguese League has taught him the value of that. His time under Mauricio Pochettino has cemented that belief. I do find it interesting who the English FA are calling to do these press conferences. You get the sense that they're trying to find leaders for the future. He might be one of them.
It takes many types to make a world, I guess
Always lessons to learn in football
I know what they mean. It's not really a diss though. In their own way, the Kardashians have changed the celebrity culture. I won't go into that here, because this is a footie community
*buries head in hands* This is going to run and run, isn't it
OP: Right. Done! Gotta go. If I've overlooked any tags, can someone fill in the rest for me, PLEASE?! Cheers, jeers, corrections and commentary pushback, you know the drill, right? RIGHT???!!! I thought so
ETA: can we talk about the tags, please? Some of them are a bit odd
