Mou vs. Del Bosque saga seems bound to continue

Despite Del Bosque finally omitting Diego Costa from his squad for the following international matches, the saga over the calls does not appear to be over. Now Mourinho does not want Fabregas to join the Spain's squad.

Yesterday José Mourinho thanked the Spanish Football Federation for omitting Diego Costa from the squad to face Belarus and Germany, and confirmed that the striker will play for Chelsea against Liverpool on Saturday. "It's good for him, it's good for Chelsea and it's good for Spain. In this way Diego Costa can rest for a few days after the match on Saturday. I am very grateful, it's fantastic news."

Mourinho also said he had had no influence on the decision of Vicente del Bosque and his staff: "I would like to make it very clear that I have had nothing to do with this."

"We think he is ready to start the match [on Saturday]," said the former Real Madrid coach. "In the 15 days [international break] he can rest and work. It is fantastic news for us. I thank the Spain FA for the decision that they made. The plan is to have a period of complete rest after the match for a few days, and after that to continue the specific work he is doing without having a match to play on the weekend."

Now he has warned that Cesc Fabregas and Ramires "cannot" join Spain's and Brazil's squads for the upcoming international window as Fabregas played with an injury in Chelsea's 2-1 Premier League win at Liverpool on Saturday.

Fabregas is suffering with a hamstring injury while Ramires is battling an adductor problem, leaving the Portuguese coach to take a "gamble" on the duo in the clash with last season's runners-up.

Mourinho has also risked another injury war with Vicente del Bosque, following a very public fall-out over Diego Costa's involvement, by insisting that Fabregas should not join up with la Roja for their upcoming fixtures against Belarus and Germany.

"No he can't go," Mourinho told reporters. "Well he can if he wants, but he can't."

He added, regarding Chelsea's performance: "The team as a team, players as individuals, I think all of them gave a great performance and had the game under control. One point at Anfield, which normally every team would accept as a fantastic result, the team didn't accept that and came out in the second half to win the game so I'm really, really pleased."

"Every player was fantastic, but I need to tell you about Fabregas and Ramires. They both played injured. Maybe we will lose them for a match or two but they put themselves out there for the team."

"I think it's fair for me to give a word to Ramires and Fabregas and also to my medical department. The medical department did fantastic work on them and they were fantastic to resist the problems that they had."

"Fabregas, in this moment, I think maybe is a problem for the next match because we gambled everything on a hamstring problem and the medical department took the risk together with me, so a special word for them and for Ramires and Fabregas."

"Ramires’ is the same adductor injury. He knew it was important I started with him, and Fabregas is a fantastic professional. He gambled."
