AMSTERDAM — The slow-moving transfer of Michael Bradley from Chievo to AS Roma has finally been completed, with the clubs settling on a fee package of 3.25 million euros ($4 million) plus half-ownership of Adrian Stoian.
A source close to the situation informed MLSsoccer.com on Sunday that the US midfielder arrived to Roma's Riscone preseason camp early Sunday afternoon, with an official announcement set for the later that evening.
Bradley starts training under new boss Zdenek Zeman on Monday and will be included on their upcoming American tour squad. The Giallorossi will tackle Polish outfit Zaglebie Lubin in Chicago on July 22, Liverpool in Boston three days later and El Salvador at Red Bull Arena on July 27.
The 24-year-old, who got his start with New York in MLS, has played 172 matches for Chievo (Italy), Aston Villa (England), Borussia Mönchengladbach (Germany) and Heerenveen (Netherlands) since crossing the pond in January of 2006.
In just one season with Chievo, Bradley performed admirably enough to earn the nickname "Il Generale" (The General) from the Italian media.
