sun rises in east, steven gerrard is gay for xabi alonso.
last friday, steven gerrard appeared on lfc tv's "friday night live" call-in show with actor and major liverpool supporter, neil fitzmaurice. at one point, the conversation turned to "players you'd want back at the club".....
we can all guess what came next.
Stevie: Yeah, I uh agree, I agree with Neil. I think obviously when Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler left, and Michael Owens and stuff, they sort of had their best years at Liverpool, so when you move on it doesn’t really hurt as much. But when Xabi left he was about to go into his prime. Uhm, you know watching him for the last eighteen months or so he’s been at Real Madrid, he’s been in top form, you know he’s gone on and won a World Cup and being one of Real Madrid’s most important players and really he should still have a red shirt on and putting on them performances for us. So uhm, I’m afraid Rafa got that one wrong for me.
Claire: Well, he did say recently that ‘never say never’, when it comes returning to Liverpool, so?
Stevie: Yeah, well that’s, that’s great to hear. I’m sure we’d love to have him back. Uhm-
Neil: He has a bond here. You can see there’s a bond there, can’t you? He has a love for the club.
Stevie: Yeah, he was devastated to leave. Obviously when the Real Madrid option come up for him, he couldn’t turn that down because you know he realized he maybe wasn’t wanted at Liverpool, so… Yeah, it was frustrating. I know Xabi didn’t want to leave, he loved it here. He was settled, he was enjoying his football... But you know, as you say ‘never say never’, maybe he’ll wear the red shirt again.
Claire: He said he's bringing up his little boy as a scouser, though...Maybe he'll bring him to Anfield one day.
Stevie: Yeah, I'm sure he will. He's been back for a few games, Xabi, you know, he's still in touch with a lot of the lads. He's a great lad, off the pitch as well as on it, and we wish him well at Madrid and hopefully he can their league, there, for Real Madrid.
thanks to fygerlonso on tumblr for the content.
i love how stevie just keeps talking -- like, it's clear at one point that he realizes he should probably be less obvious but his mouth won't stop talking about xabi.
meanwhile, in madrid:
