Lazio keeper Muslera joins Galatasaray

Galatasaray have signed Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera from Lazio on a five-year deal.

Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera has left S.S. Lazio to join Galatasaray AŞ, with the Istanbul side paying €6.75m for the 25-year-old.

Muslera will move to Turkey after the Copa América concludes this weekend, having saved a Carlos Tévez penalty to see Uruguay past Argentina in a quarter-final shoot-out. The one-time Montevideo Wanderers FC trainee was Lazio's first choice for the last two seasons, making 96 Serie A appearances in total since his arrival in 2007, and winning the Italian Cup with the Rome club in 2009.

Capped 25 times, Muslera is heading in the opposite direction to Albanian international midfielder Lorik Cana, who swapped Galatasaray for Lazio last weekend. Lazio will feature in the UEFA Europe League play-offs after finishing fifth in Serie A. Eighth in Turkey, Galatasaray have not earned a European place for 2011/12.

I don't get this. I though if he left Lazio he'd go to a big European club, no offence to Galatasaray.
