Cristiano Ronaldo says the Selecção have only one option in Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Norway – victory. “If we win we’ll be first in the group. We have to beat Norway so we can go on holiday relaxed,” said the Portugal captain.
Portugal have the chance to avenge the defeat in Oslo earlier in the campaign. While recognizing that Norway will present a tough challenge, Ronaldo says he does not believe the game last September will have any bearing on the match in Lisbon.
“What happened in Norway was a mistake, through our own fault, we have to admit it. The past is in the past and I don’t want to talk about it. The present is good. The players are happy and want to continue this excellent form we are in.
“Norway won’t play an open game. They’ll put almost everybody behind the ball, but with patience and prudence we’ll manage to score. They know that if they play an open game they’ll have a lot of difficulties, but we have to focus on ourselves. If we play at our best we have an excellent chance of winning.
“We’re at home, in front of our own fans. I’m confident we’ll win. I know Norway; I know they’re a good team. It’s going to be difficult but I believe Portugal will play a good game and win.”
The odds will definitely be favourable for Portugal in the match, despite the fact that the Selecção has won only one of their last eight matches against Scandinavian opposition. Punters who correctly predict the score could be in for a windfall, like the people who play games in Internet casinos.
Summer transfer ruled out
The Real Madrid superstar enjoyed a record-breaking season from an individual point of view, and hopes to keep up his free-scoring ways against the Norwegians.
“In relation to goals, it was a special season, without doubt. Scoring 50 odd goals is not easy, and I’m extremely pleased about it. But what I wanted more was titles. We only managed to win the Copa del Rey, but in individual terms, yes, I’m very happy. Let’s see if something happens and another goal comes on Saturday, but I’m not worried about that – what we want is to win.”
Staying on the topic of his club, Ronaldo categorically denied he was tempted to move away from the Spanish capital, despite rumours of a huge-money offer from Manchester City and interest from his former club in the same city, Manchester United.
“I’m happy at Real. I want to win more titles for the club. I’m settled at Real Madrid and I have no intention of moving,” said Ronaldo, adding that he would be delighted if international colleague Fabio Coentrao joined him at the Merengues.

Some pictures as usual... :p
When I saw this, I thought of the fans of these two right away and saying: "Come to RM, Fabs" xD
Paulo Bento and André Santos:
How lucky is this kid who got to train and hang out with the team? Leave some food for the poor kid, Cristiano
You too, Pepe
Bento... don't tell me this is our backup goalie when for some reason, Hugo, Patricio and Eduardo get injured. Beto will judge you. jk
Who's more important than the team, Roro? Stop texting.. or maybe he just found out that time that Mavs lost in (Game 1)
Duda and Eduardo:
A gecko probably fell on Ronaldo's head for Postiga and Fabs to look like that
Paulo Machado and Nani:
Hugo Ventura and Meireles:
Pirates of the Carribean main star - Danny. LOL Ronaldo are you going to slide on the railing?
Well, well, well.. what do we have here? Reminiscing old times at a certain club in Lisbon? ;)
I haven't seen RM at all in La Liga this season so congrats Ronaldo for the 50,000 goals :p. What's your preferred lineup for this game? Do you think should play in the midfield, do you think Bento will play Carlos Martins with Moutinho and Meireles again? And Postiga or Almeida as striker or should he experiment with Varela, didn't Varela tried to play as CF vs Guimarães because Hulk kept drifting to his usual position? I'm guessing Martins will play well again because they are at playing at his "home" ;). Anyway....
