Ian Rush: Speed’s Wales can stun England to become history makers
Wales legend Ian Rush is leading the calls to make sure now is the time for the boys in red to become men – and point to the start of a new era under a new manager.
“Now is the time for them to be ready,” said Rush, the top goalscorer in Welsh international history with 28 goals from his 73 games.
“And they have to be because they’re not kids anymore. They’ve played a lot of games now, they have players like Bale with Champions League experience and Ramsey who has seen first-hand at Arsenal what it takes in these big games.
“We’ve had a lot of time building and protecting the younger players which has been fine – but they need to step to the front now.
They have a huge opportunity in front of them to take a giant step forward and if they aren’t ready to take it now, when are they going to be?
“They have to believe this is the time. We need to start somewhere and where better than a massive result against England
