36 year old former Tottenham defender Dean Richards passed away today 'after a long-term spell of chronic dizziness'. Richards was well known for playing with the Wolves, Southampton, and Tottenham. In 2005 Richards was forced to retire because he was suffering dizzy spells and headaches. He was told by doctors he had an abnormality on the brain.
Richards made 145 appearances with the Wolves and helped the club reach the F.A Cup final in 1998. He later spent two years at Southampton before moving to Tottenham. Richards made a total of 18 goals in his career and played four times for the England U-21 team.
Tribute to Dean.
