This past Sunday, the Sunday Times published an article where Schweinsteiger admitted his love for the English game:
"I love the kind of speed of the English game but I don’t know what will happen with me, I have a contract until 2012 and we’ll see. What I love is the atmosphere in English stadiums. When we played last year in Manchester it was fantastic. My brother is a big fan of Man U and he always says, ‘Go to Man U, go to Man U’. I say, ‘I can’t, I can’t’ (someone needs to tell him about 'Man U', Manc ladies) Maybe they can swap me for Rooney! (this was said while he was laughing) I watch the English games on TV and I like the Chelsea style at the moment, they’re very strong. For me, in England the fans are better. When the team give their best, they are not booing. It’s more like they are fans more with the heart.”

So ignoring the headlines that took that like "SCHWEINSTEIGER TO CHELSEA" I thought, oh, that's nice. We had been linked to him before like EVERY OTHER PLAYER EVER but he's on the right side of 30, tall, could play our physical game. Hmm...
This is all the Chelsea trade rumors and my thoughts for today. Stay tuned tomorrow for "Moses to Chelsea" rumors. Shirtless Basti thanks you for your time.
Then Bayern responded the next day promising massive cash, with Uli Hoeness saying, "Bastian certainly knows what he has got here. It is not like he is going to have to sign up for benefits. If our guys need more money from the board, then they will get it." Hoeness went on to prospectively threaten all other clubs: ''The guys from Real (Madrid) tried it with Franck Ribery and all they got was a bloody nose. Everybody in Europe has got to start learning what they are up against with FC Bayern, and that it is not so easy [to sign our players].''
So at this point I was like, is this a ploy to get more money out of Bayern? He doesn't want to leave his beloved German league right? Hmmm...
So now today according to Bild he's delayed the contract extension decision with Bayern until January. He's wishing to focus on "the Champions League with Bayern and would look at "developments" in the coming months, including January transfers, to see if the club's ambitions match his own before making a decision on whether to extend his contract."
So at this point I'm very very curious to see what will happen with this. I think it would take me all of about 30 seconds to be behind this. But then again, I'm going through 2-months of Lampard withdrawal and am not blown away by Ramires yet so that is part of my reaction.
That's my thoughts so far, what do other people think? I don't watch a lot of Bundesliga matches, but I've seen him on the German NT. I hear he's having a decent season for Bayern though. Will we land him? Or will he go to Manchester Utd? Do they need/want him? How much do Bayern fans care?
