it's as important to know how to arrive to a place than to know how to leave it.

Yesterday Villa visited a late night show on TV, Buenafuente, I think it could be like the spanish version of Jimmy Fallon.

Higlights:
·Villa becomes a midget (yes please, that's exactly what we lack in this team)
·On modesty and being a nice guy.
·Being ready and not having pre-season, etc.
·He misses Valencia.
·What his bb girl thought about him joining barça and her crush.
·Ibra's trash talking.
·Messi is the best in the world.
·Not scoring enough.
·He likes Barcelona as a city.
·The miners in Chile.
·His singing abilities.
·The Principe de Asturias awards.

Buenafuente: You as well? You've also become a puppet? Oh plase! Look at him!
David, I have no words. What do you do to be like this? What do you eat?
Villa: Let me think, one moment....
I eat very well. I eat everything.
B: Is there any product you can't eat, on doctor's order?
V: Well... the meringue (note: "merengue" in spanish is what in Spain they call people of Real Madrid. also, please, this is a HUMOUR program)
B: The meringue... ok, ok.
Let's score a goal that you've never done before. You've never scored with your hands? At least that we know of?
V: Umm... no.
B: No, let's say no. For the first time he's going to score.... but it's not a hand, it's a feet. Well, whatever, you already know. Ready?
V: On the chest, throw it on the chest.
B: Yes? You want on the chest first? Careful, there we go. Oh, we need more practice. (to the public) Oh, now you miss Berto, right? (note: Berto is Buenafuente's sidekick on the program. HE. IS. AMAZING. He sometimes does this puppet/midget thing)
Attention, chest, touch. Oh wow, what a control, boy! Floating!

David Villa, ladies and gentelman! Welcome!!!
You're good at this!! Welcome to the program! Thanks for coming!
(the audience cheers at Villa "handsome", "beautiful" and stuff)
B: Ok, ok. The protagonist today is David!!
No, but really. Thanks for coming. I was telling you before and I'm telling you again. You create such a happiness and hope that it's starting to be something that belongst to the footballers. And when you tell people "Villa is coming" they are happier, isn't it?
I guess you're also happy to create this happiness. How are you?
V: Yes. Thanks, first of all, for the invitation. Such a pleasure to be here. And I'm fine. Football lately is such a pleasure for everybody that I'm really happy, I love this job and that people are happy with my job is really good.
B: Champion of the world. Do you believe it or not?
V: Well, little by little you assimilate it. There in SA we weren't really conscient of it, but we're assimilating it most of all thanks to all the love from all the people.
B: You're all in a very modest team. I remember Iniesta, the real king of modsty, that the day after winning someone asked him how was he feeling and he answered "well, we have to keep fighting". No!!!! You don't have to keep fighting!!! Be cocky!!!!! But I guess that's the way you are.
V: Yes, everybody is different. We are conscient that we have a special talent and that we are a really good generation of football players, in my opinion unique in the last years, specially, but we have also won because we're close as a team, we think about our teammates. I think that's really important. We like it when they say we are good players but it' a really nice compliment when people tell us that we are nice guys and that we do useful things for others.

B: You couldn't really rest though. You come back from the world cup and you need to perform to the top for one of the big teams in Spain. How do you deal with it?
V: But that's good. The level of demand is good. Our career is short and we want most of the things to arrive as soon as possible. We haven't had many time to do the preseason, specially the internationals who were in SA. We have arrived practially without training and we had to compete, but we're fine, we're strong, we're young and we can deal with everything.
B: Do you remember the day of the presentation at Camp Nou? I had never seen a presentation with such a lot of people.
V: Neither do I. At least that I have been on.
B: You thought "today there's a match and they didn't tell me".

People have asked me on the internet. Do you miss Valencia?
V: Well there's no doubt I do, but some words have not been well interpreted. I am really happy here in Barcelona. They are treating me amazingly, i have everything, I am in the best club in the world, the one i had always dreamt of playing for one day, but there's no doub that the years i spent there were really good. I have many friends there, Joaquin, that you also had him here, i remember. Lots of friends that you miss on your everyday life. Like any other person that leaves friends and leaves people that appreciate far.
B: And every step is very important for your career. We are not discovering anything new here. And Valencia is a warm place, people are close, you can't forget that.  I think it's also good that you have a memory there. They told me that when you told your family you were going to move your daughter wasn't very happy.
V: You know, four years, changing school, her friends. She had also the idea that her daddy was a valencia player and it was a bit difficult for her to understand that i was gonna change teams. And specially this week, this week i was facing lots of teammates that she know. But well, step by step she is understanding everything, and now she's a culé.
B: I think you told her, to make things easier, that you were gonna play at Puyol's team. And that helped you, right?
V: Yes, because she admires some of my teammates, but her favourite is Puyol. I've always told Puyi that she admires him a lot. I don't know if it's because of the hair or what. (his bb girl is obviously very smart)
No, she says it because he's a really good player and because she knows his daddy is good friends with him.
B: Well, i guess you didn't show this pic of Puyol to the girl?
What a lot of rage Puyol has, it's impressive!
You knew a lot of them from the Spanish NT, but did something surprise you when you started with barça, that you weren't expecting?
V: It's difficult that something can surprise me. I've been a lot of time in the football world and you know that in football there are very few coincidences and if this club has won so many titles it's because things are done properly, things are done like in any other place and because there are a lot of many good players. Not many things surprised me, also because i knew a lot of people from the changing room.
B: Most of the journalists respect you. I follow football as an ousider and I can see that they love you.
V: Well I am a person that doesn't like to talk in public a lot, be in the middle of the mess and to do my job inside the field and not outside. Maybe that makes people like me.
B: Yes, but you also face things. You talk during delicate moments,
V: Our job has a very big repercussion and you have to control some of the stuff. Inside and outside of the field.

B: By the way, Guardiola is really that handsome in real life as well? What? I think he is attractive! (obviously he has excellent taste)
He is more handsome than Ibrahimobic (OBVIOUSLY, but that's easy)
I think it was today that we were reading a very hard interview with Ibra against barça and I thought, and this is not only for football, it's as important to know how to arrive to a place than to know how to leave. Do you agree? You have to leave a place having friends. That's not the way to go, right?
V: Well obviously everybody has his own opinions and his way to do things. In my case from all the places i left i've always had nice goodbyes, with lots of friends and trying to leave as good as possible. It's very difficult to leave a club. There's a lot of rivalry between most of the clubs and it's complicated. But everybody sees things in different ways.

B: With Messi, sometimes you become like a member of the audience. Like, you say what is that man going to do now? Right? Because you're playing a game and between this one here that has his own genie and the other one... how do you understand each other? With a walkie or what? How do you do it?
V: No, it's true. He's one of those players that even when you're in the rival team and you watch a game on tv you enjoy watching him play. Usually they are rivals and you always want them to lose, but players of that level make you enjoy them even if they are not your teammate. Having him by my side, now, even more.
B: Does he make things that you don't expect?
V: I've always said the same. For me he's the best in the world because he makes things that the rest of us can't do. Everybody may have their own opinion but i've never seen anyone do the things he does and for me he is different from anybody else.
B: Good teammate, good teammate. Even though I've heard you say that if you were the jury of some of this awards you'd like to give it to Xavi or Iniesta. It's like an award to the makers of that football.
V: Yes, I always say the same when they ask me this. I don't know what they are looking for in the winner, the best in the world, the one with the best career, the one with the best season, the one that has scored more goals, i don't know but there's no doubt that Xavi and Iniesta deserve everything. They are key players for barça, winner of so many trophies and for the NT, champions of the eurocup and the worldcup. So they are not only key players but also what this stile of football represents.
B: By the way, they have sent me a message asking you to score next weekend. Or on thursday. People don't have any problem with asking for stuff. But he was a very nice guy: "if its not possible, it's ok". It's the slavery of the goal.
V: But that's normal. I also demand it to myself. I know i'm helping the team, i'm fine, i'm happy with the matches i'm doing but the strikers miss the goal they miss something. But i'm calm because i know that it will come. On wednesday, sure, to satisfy that men.
B: Sure. When do you want it, first time or second one?
V: First time, to open the box.
B: Well then, it's done!

Do you like Barcelona, to live?
V: Any persone likes Barcelona. If you're not comfortable in a city like Barcelona you mean you don't know how to enjoy things. It has everything and it's very similar to Valencia with the climate, the sea, to Valencia and I was already accomodated there, so everything is perfect.
B: By the way, the impact you have is worldwide. For example, how exciting it is to see those tshirts you signed for the miners in Chile. This is one of the nice things about being famous.
V: Our image reaches lots of places and sometimes with a little help, a little time, because it was no efford for me to sign two tshirts and send them to Chile, you make a lot of people happy and in this case I always try to collaborate in stuff like that. You always miss stuff but well...
B: As the son of a miner, that reached you.
V: I think it reached everybody, it's a situation that you cannot even imagine and in this case i've lived all my life surrounded by the mines, i've still got many family and friends that work there so maybe it can reach me a little bit more, but it's delicate for most of the people.

B: I didn't know you could sing. Maybe you didn't either though.
Weren't you more nervous here than in the match?
V: I was much more nervous there! But people there and Ana helped me a lot. If someone asks me to sing one day i'll probably say no, but in this case, and with Ana Torroja, i couldn't say no.
B: By the way, will you go to the Principe de Asturias award ceremony?
V: It's in a very bad dates. I think it's not going to be possible. It's really sad but it's only logical, on saturday we have a very important match in Zaragoza at 6 o'clock and there's no hours. We don't have hours left. I'd love to be there. I'm really proud to have received it and to belong to a NT that receives this kind of awards but we have to work on saturday in Zaragoza.
B: Understandable.
David I hope the goals come back as soon as possible and you can celebrate them in this city that loves you so much.
I want to give you a present from a friend from Argentina who does caricatures.
