Ullevål / OSLO (Dagbladet): John Arne Riise is missing the game against Portugal after having sustained a concussion at today's national team training.

It ended with Riise getting Ruud's shoulder to his jaw , went into the ground and suffered a heavy concussion. The Roma player is sidelined for tomorrow's match against Portugal, and will likely spend the night at the Ullevål hospital for observation.
It was dramatic when an unconscious Riise was lying in the grass with cramps. He was quickly taken care of by Andersen, who controlled that the airways were free and that the heart was beating normally until he was placed in the recovery position and an ambulance was requested.There was never any danger, in that he was breathing normally, but Riise was long out of consciousness.
- He was probably unconscious for three or four to five minutes, and it is relatively long, "says Andersen.
Regarding spasms or convulsions, is not an unusual reaction in severe head trauma. It is harmless, but it looks dramatic, "explains Andersen told Dagbladet.
