Today was the semi-finals of the COPA NYC football tournament. It's an amateur soccer tournament based in NYC where people represent world teams based on their heritage. So you've got teams like NYC France, NYC Jamaica, NYC Italy, etc.
Jamaica beat out Ireland, 1-0, for a place in tomorrow's final (which I intend on going to at least the 2nd half of, hopefully all of it if I can get out of work early enough). I love that it's right by my house! <3 Queens... Anyway. Final is tomorrow @ Flushing Meadows Corona Park at 4pm.
HERE is a live stream of NYC Poland vs. NYC Argentina. Score is 2-2. The camera quality is shit. But it has a nice turn out for amateurs.
I'm posting this for our fellow members who are soccer fans in the USA. The world cup comes only every 4 years, but tournaments like these really boost local support for our favorite sport. And it's free.
Oh and gobidusa is a sponsor. SO GO SIGN FOR THE USA TO HOST THE 2018 or 2022 WORLD CUP @ gousabid.com It is also sponsored by nycosmos.com. :D
