Fernando Torres has warned his Spanish teammates that Steven Gerrard and England represent a major threat to their World Cup dream.
Torres puts Gerrard and Wayne Rooney in the same bracket as Lionel Messi as the leading lights in South Africa - and he thinks they can take the Three Lions all the way.
"They have fantastic players all over the pitch. I have been telling the Spanish lads all about them," said El Nino.
"I see Gerrard and Rooney on the same level as Messi, Xavi, Kaka, Ronaldo and the other top players.
"It would be a dream to play England in the final and an England-Spain final would be a showcase of the two best nations in world football."
Meanwhile, Torres claims Gerrard would have been his choice for England captain even before Rio Ferdinand's knee injury.
"Stevie is the right choice as captain," said the 26-year-old.
"With all due respect I would have made him captain anyway before the Rio Ferdinand injury.
"He is the best captain I have ever played under. As long as we don't meet earlier, I see it being an England versus Spain final."
Spain/England final plz football gods.
