Andrea Pirlo un-retires from Italy NT

Pirlo_2842227b

“I spoke to Conte, he asked me to be part of the Azzurri family again and I accepted. So hopefully I’ll be with them for their next training camp. It was a difficult decision for me. I wanted to quit playing for Italy, but then Conte came to me and asked me for help. I’m happy to do so and I hope we’ll do well.” This is what Andrea Pirlo said during an interview with Gazzetta Tv.

“He has everything he needs to be successful,” Juventus’ playmaker added. “He gave his team a new identity in just a few days, and that was very difficult after such a devastating World Cup. He needs time, one match isn’t enough to evaluate a team, but Conte and his staff are working to create a national team that makes the fans proud and happy to watch their games.”

Music video against homophobia in football

Something rather better than those statements the associations make the players read out, where one always wonders what support an actual gay player would actually receive if he came out.

Marcus Wiebusch, "Der Tag wird kommen" (The Day Will Come). It's subtitled in English; the subtitles are a bit stiff at times, but much of the German is idioms etc. The music video was crowdfunded because they wanted to do something appropriate to it. They were going for 30,000 €, but collected over 50,000. There are fan groups participating and all kinds of things.

(No idea what else to tag this, so have at it.)

Ibra the scary Zlatan!

Apparently even the referees are scared of him now.

Not sure if I should feel a little outraged for Alaba or snicker over the whole thing. Has any of you watched the match?

I also noticed there is no tag for David Alaba. *snickers some more*
