Adam Lallana to miss start of season

Adam Lallana injured his knee in training and will miss up to six weeks of action, Liverpool confirmed on Friday.

The Reds acquired the 26-year-old midfielder from Southampton earlier this month in a deal believed to be worth up to 25 million pounds, but their new player will miss the start of the season.

Liverpool said Lallana "sustained a knock to his lateral collateral ligament during a session at the Reds' Harvard University training base in Boston."

The injury will not require surgery, the club said.

Lallana, who played for England at the World Cup earlier this summer, will undergo further tests both in the U.S. and England.

I know we have a bit more depth this season, but this sucks.

Btw ... in case you are watching U19 Germany vs. Ukraine. Levin Öztunali is Uwe Seeler's grandson. And for those of you who don't know who Uwe Seeler is ... (what kind of football fan are you anyway??? *gg*) ... here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_Seeler

Real Madrid Pre-Season Picspam

Los Merengues are back and they are ready to take the upcoming season by storm (LA LIGA IS OURS FOR THE TAKING!) The NT players took a vacation after flying home early from the World Cup and the rest of the boys trained early for the Champions Cup in the US. A team of 20 (including Gareth "No Relation to Christian" Bale, Glorious Bearded Prince Xabi and Mr. "I Headbutted Troll Mueller" Pepe) flied to LA while San Iker, Sex God Ramos and Modric soon followed. (Crispy was in Japan for a skincare lifestyle thing and is currently hard at work... posing in his underwear for his new line.)

ANYWAY, enough chit-chat! Onward to the photos!

Their first match will be against Inter Milan on July 26, at 3 PM.
They'll take on AS Roma next on July 29, at 8:15 PM.
Then it's Real Madrid vs. Manchester United on August 2, at 4:06 PM
The finals (should Madrid win all their matches which they probably will) is going to be held on August 4 at 8PM.

No word on the line-up yet but I'm expecting Bale, Xabi and Pepe to start.

Feel free to share some pre-season gems (or any kind of gem really) in the comments!

Troll Müller does his thing.

Thomas Müller is pretty cool. He wears his socks slid down, he scores goals for fun at World Cups. He dances like no-one is watching. Now, he even wears dresses. No idea why. He just does. Enjoy.

This adorable troll. He really outdoes himself, doesn't he? Perfect tag, btw
