Porto's pre season: New kits, new players & Hulk receives 2 awards!

New equipment for the 2011/2012 season (unveiled by 5 Emperor Palpatines)!

The latest FC Porto kits for the upcoming season were presented at The Yeatman hotel in Vila Nova de Gaia, overlooking the Douro River. The kits are in fact a working gear that, through hard work, can become tuxedos for the victories. On the players’ recommendation, the shirts are collarless, thus providing greater comfort.

Highlight goes to the fact that the home shirt’s central stripe is blue again. The away kit, in dark blue, has purple details that bring to mind the historic 2003/04 season. The inscription “Winning since 1893” can be seen inside all of the shirts. The technology used has remained the same: all kits are made from recycled plastic bottles.

While girls lose their appetite or balloon by eating everything in sight, Ryan Giggs' emotional struggle has manifest itself by turning him grey.

The football ace showcased a grey beard and sideburns as walked through Manchester Airport ahead of his pre-season tour of America.

His white hair was far more prominent than it was last year, when he had a tinge of silver during a press conference in April at Old Trafford.

Giggs failed to break into a smile when one fan shouted: 'Have you got a sponsorship deal with Durex yet?'

The dad-of-two has been under the media glare in recent weeks, following his six-month affair with Big Brother glamour model Imogen Thomas.

Compared to last year, the 37-year-old looked gaunt and underweight with sunken eyes.

His suit jacket seemed to dwarf his petite frame and his cheekbones protruded from his face with more prominence than usual.

Another onlooker at the airport said: 'Ryan really looked as if he has aged, presumably because of all the trouble he's been having.

'Everyone knows he's growing grey on top but the beard made him look even older than the youthful look fans have always expected of him.

'He looked really gloomy as he went to the airport and trudged through the arrivals lounge like an old man.

'In fact he looked more like Harold Shipman than a Premiership footballer.

'When the fan shouted out about the deal with Durex he was totally expressionless.

'He knows it is only the start of things to come when he returns to the football field.

'Meanwhile Wayne (Rooney) looked years younger now he's had the hair transplant. It seems to have put a real spring in his step.'

the power to change fifa (rankings) is in our hands!!

Meet the Faroese student who made Wales officially worse at football
Exclusive: Jakup Emil Hansen, inspired by the investigative journalism of the BBC's Panorama program, is the cyber warrior whose one-man campaign to expose a Fifa mistake has put the Faroe Islands above Wales in the world rankings

But even he admits that his team would almost certainly lose if the two teams met.

Wales’ hopes of qualifying for the World Cup in 2014 suffered an early blow when Fifa, under pressure from the island nation’s football Federation and, in particular their Irish coach Brian Kerr, lifted the Faroe Islands above Gary Speed’s side in the world rankings.

Level on points, it was the meticulous research and calculations of the 28-year-old political science student from his digs in Denmark which revealed the Faroe Islands’ 2-0 victory over Estonia last month meant they should be 0.07 points better off than Wales in the rankings.

Although still joint 114th on the list with 273 points, the small difference spotted by Hansen means the Faroe Islands have moved ahead of Iceland and Wales in the list, meaning Wales drop into the bottom tier of European nations alongside the likes of San Marino ahead of this month’s Qualification Group draw.

don't cry for me, i'm already dead

"Liverpool FC tonight announced they had agreed a fee with Aston Villa for the transfer of Stewart Downing. (villa sources say £20 million)

Liverpool have now been granted permission to discuss personal terms with the player and arrange a medical."

i know i've been irrationally raging about just selling him for months, but i'm not really angry, just sad to see what's happening to my club tbh. if we don't buy n'zogbia now, we'll be left with a 21-year-old kid as our sole winger for the season. and seeing as our main defensive pairing is crocked, we've lost our two wingers (also best players), a main CM (our others are: aging badly, unadjusted to the EPL, a 5'5" 21-year-old, and stephen fucking ireland) and the only guy we're confirmed to be actually bidding for is a goalkeeper to replace the one we lost...

i would post a list of quotes downing said during the last 2 months of the season, to the effect of "i owe villa so much", "i'd be happy to stay here no matter what", "i can't wait to talk about signing a new contract" etc, but i don't want to ruin the party more

let's go nuts!!!
