Long Live Pompey! Portsmouth sold, out of administration

Portsmouth have come out of administration after being sold to a company controlled by their former owner Balram Chainrai, the English Championship (second division) club's administrator told Reuters on Sunday.

"The sale has been completed to a new company principally owned by (Hong Kong businessman) Balram Chainrai and (his business partner) Levi Kushnir," said administrator Andrew Andronikou, a partner in the firm of UHY Hacker Young.

Miguel Ángel García Tebar, a UD Salamanca midfielder had to be urgently taken to hospital today after collapsing in the middle of the match that his team was playing against Betis.

The player collapsed suddenly in the 59th minute of the game and team doctors had to act urgently - having to resort to on field resuscitation because Miguel Angel was in cardiac arrest.

After opening an airway, the club's medical services used a defibrillator to restore normal heart rhythm to the 31 year old and he left the Helmántico conscious and, once in the Clinical Hospital of Salamanca, doctors confirmed that he was in stable condition and underwent a series of tests to verify the situation.

I was listening to this game on the radio and it was really scary to hear of a player collapsing, especially as nobody knew what was going on and then he had to be resuscitated on the pitch. He was concious and moving when they stretchered him off but he's been taken straight to hospital for more treatment and tests.

I'm just glad that the doctors acted quickly and from the sounds of things he's going to be alright but it scared the hell out of me because the second I heard he collapsed my mind went straight to Puerta and De la Red :(

El Super classico ended 0-0!!! NOO!!

will this ever stop?

In today's derby between Independiente and Boca, the Independiente fans gave a very peculiar welcome to the xeneizes: they threw at goalkeeper Luchetti "bolas de fraile" (similar to bagels) and "Paragüitas" (chocolate sweets with the shape of umbrellas) before the match started.

These two words ("bolitas" and "paraguas") are used as degrading terms for people from Bolivia and Paraguay, the preferred insult from most of teams' fans to attack Boca fans, considering the number of Bolivians and Paraguayans that support their team.

The chants that came with this was the now usual "Son la mitad más uno, son de Bolivia y Paraguay. Yo a veces me pregunto, che negro sucio, si te bañás. Boca, que asco te tengo, lavate el culo con aguarras." (You are the half plus one, you're from Bolivia and Paraguay. Sometimes I ask myself, hey nasty nigger, if you shower. Boca, you repulse me, wash your ass with kerosene.) It makes reference to Boca's fans' nickname "La mitad más uno".
