Roy: Trio could star v Utrecht

Roy Hodgson is considering fielding senior stars such as Fernando Torres against Utrecht on Thursday night.

The manager is delighted with how his Spanish striker has progressed over recent games - and believes El Nino is forming a potent understanding with Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt.

Now he is pondering playing the trio in our second Europa League encounter later this week.

"It's on my mind to play Torres, Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt on Thursday," he said. "I think they're knitting together well.

I think Roy should honestly just start as many of the line up he had Saturday in this match. They NEED to click before the break, I think it'd be a smart move to play as much of the Saturday line up as he can. AND Mods, is there a roy tag that I'm simply missing? If not, I think it's time we got one, tbh.

David Beckham lashes out at fan for taunting him over cheating scandal with ex-hooker Irma Nici

Read more:

I won't cut and paste the whole thing as it will take way to long. Was this posted before? I don't recall seeing it. I've seen the video of his reaction and tbqh, I don't blame him. That fan was being an asshole. So far I also don't believe this hooker story is true. That's just me. Can never be sure when it comes to footballers and hookers.

or I will make posts about them everyday.

Rooney ruled out of Manchester United's trip to Valencia

• Rooney picked up ankle injury during draw with Bolton
• Striker went off during second half at the Reebok Stadium

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of Manchester United's Champions League game against Valencia on Wednesday due to an ankle injury picked up during yesterday's draw against Bolton Wanderers.

Sir Alex Ferguson has told club officials the 24-year-old will not be fit enough to make the trip after being withdrawn during the second half of yesterday's game.

It is unclear how long Rooney will be out for, but he could possibly miss United's trip to Sunderland on Saturday, while England will hope the striker will be able to participate in their Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro on 12 October.

Some may feel it is a good time for Rooney to have a break. On ESPN yesterday, the pundit Kevin Keegan voiced his concern for the striker, who has scored only one goal for United this season, a penalty against West Ham United.

Meanwhile Nemanja Vidic has told his team-mates to cut out the defensive lapses that are wrecking their title bid. United have conceded nine goals in five Premier League games so far this season, and are three points behind the leaders, Chelsea.

"It is a big concern that we are conceding so many away goals," said Vidic. "We have to stop doing it. We cannot let it happen again.

"Over the last few years we haven't given that many goals away or even allowed them so many chances. Before we have always looked strong, so this is not what we are used to. We have to play much better in our away games."

mod post

Maybe some of you need a reminder, but imagine making an appreciation post. Out of nowhere comes some person taking the piss out of your team. Do you: a) ignore it, b) argue with them or c) delete the comment?

If you choose a, good for you, take the higher ground. If you choose b, hooray, we love arguments here. If you choose c, however, YOU DUN GOOFED.

DO NOT DELETE COMMENTS. I'M TELLING YOU. If you made a spelling/grammar boo boo and delete it really fast, no problem, that's not that I'm talking about. What I am talking about is if someone makes a comment in your post just to wind you up, scroll on by or argue, but deleting is unacceptable. If you're in the middle of an argument and the other person is making you look like a fool, admit it and move on. Deleting comments in either case is a one-way ticket to Bad Move.

I hope this is the last time I make this post.
