Roy Hodgson today revealed how Dirk Kuyt could return from injury earlier than expected - either against Sunderland at the weekend or Utrecht next Thursday. reported a fortnight ago that the Dutchman would be out for up to a month with a shoulder injury sustained on international duty.

However, the 30-year-old has made a faster-than-expected recover and is already back in training.

Hodgson said: "Dirk has trained the last couple of days. We're trying to protect him a little bit but he's made a remarkable recovery, so it'll be interesting to see how he progresses on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in relation to Saturday's game and the game next Thursday.

"We thought three to five weeks, so we're at the quick end of the scale."

Kuyt will be desperate to make the trip to Utrecht, the club where his professional career got up and running.

Meanwhile, the only other fitness concern for the Liverpool boss is Fabio Aurelio, who is out with an Achilles problem.

Hodgson added: "With Fabio it's a little more tricky. The sports science people are very anxious they get him 100 per cent right before they throw him back in because they don't want a situation where he's dropping out again. But he's making very good progress and if push came to shove we could use him."

AMAZING. I LOVE KUYT SFM. I hope he's not rushing back into it too quickly, but it really does seem like he's making great progress. YES!

Who made my sex dream come true?

Yesterday morning Fernando Llorente did a photo session to take part in the 2011 calendar from the firemen of Vizcaya.
Since this year the subject of the calendar was ~the weather, the striker had to get wet (orly? i wanna marry whoever had that idea) .
Apart from the Athletic player other basque sportsmen have participated, like surfer Eneko Acero or former Bilbao Basket captain Javi Salgado.

TV Advert for FIFA 11. The tag line is "We Are 11."

Comes out September 28th for North America, September 30th for Australia, and October 1st for Europe for all platforms but Wii. Wii comes out October 3rd for all Countries. For more information on the game can be found here and here.

I am pretty excited for this. I may need to go buy a used Xbox 360. I don't think playing on the Wii will be as fun as Xbox. Plus a lot of the features aren't available for Wii.

"But Chelsea haven't played anyone good yet!"

Interesting and thought-provoking article in The Guardian about football fixtures, and whether or not the order of them affect the final outcome of the league table:

I SEE. All I can say is, easy games or not, Chelsea's first real test lies in this weekend's fixture against Man City, a game for which I can see the large majority of ontd_football temporarily abandoning their "Shitty City" stance and rooting for them :-P I bloody hope we win. >.<
