Someone's less than happy....

...but then Spurs somehow lost to Wigan.  There is some bad language, just a heads up.

ETA: keeping all the Spurs news in one place:

Luís Fabiano has effectively ended Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of luring him to White Hart Lane by signing a two-year contact extension to stay with Sevilla.

The Brazil international, whose previous deal was due to run out in June 2011, has regularly been the subject of transfer speculation over the last few years but he has now decided to commit himself to the Andalucian club.

The 29-year-old joined from Porto in 2005 and has been a prolific goalscorer during his five years in Spain, as well as helping Sevilla win two Uefa Cups, two Copa del Rey and the European and Spanish Super Cups.

Fabiano, who has struck 95 goals in for Sevilla, said: "It's a very happy day. This is my home, I've been here six seasons and I will try to continue scoring goals and continue making history for Sevilla. It's a very special day for me.

"My first option was to renew with Sevilla. I rejected many offers and there were many interested teams. My desire was always to be here and what's true is that we have made a great effort to renew the contract."

He added: "Sevilla have given me everything. When I arrived here the fans didn't think much of Luís Fabiano, because at my two previous teams in Europe [Porto and Rennes] things didn't go well.

"But here I've returned to the national team, I've won many titles ... I owe a lot to Sevilla, that's the truth."

Today's news will come as a major boost to Sevilla after last week suffering a huge blow when they were knocked out of the Champions League play-offs by Braga.

Is there no 'Arry Rednapp tag or am I missing it?

Van Nistelrooy earns Dutch recall

Hamburg striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been rewarded for his blistering start to the Bundesliga season with a call-up to the Netherlands squad for their Euro 2012 qualifiers against San Marino and Finland.

The 34-year-old last played for his country in the finals of Euro 2008 after which he announced his international retirement.

He reversed that decision in the hope of getting a call-up to the 2010 World Cup squad only to be overlooked by Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk. But with Arsenal’s Robin van Persie ruled out with an ankle injury, the former Manchester United striker has now been handed a recall.

A KNVB statement this afternoon revealed Van Persie will be out for “at least a few weeks”.

Van Persie suffered the injury playing for the Gunners in the 2-1 win at Blackburn on Saturday.

His injury opens the door for Van Nistelrooy, who has netted six goals in three games for Hamburg this season. The former PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United and Real Madrid star has netted 33 goals in 64 games for his country.

The Dutch play San Marino on Friday before taking on Finland in Rotterdam on September 7th.

It sucks that RVP got injured but as a bit of a Ruud fangirl I'm happy about this! He's been on really good form so far this season and it's good to see it recognised.

Roy - Oh hai, Spain? Yeah, plz don't take Nando, we needz him so we can haz goalz.

Roy Hodgson is hopeful Fernando Torres will not receive a call-up for Spain following the striker's sensational winner in the 1-0 win over West Brom.

The Reds boss was delighted with the No.9's contribution after his volley not only secured the first league victory of Hodgson's tenure, but also saw him net a landmark 50th goal in all-competitions at Anfield.

However, the manager warned that the forward will only continue his improvement if he remains at Melwood to maintain his fitness programme.

Personally, I think it's a bit odd for someone to ask a player's home nation to NOT use them, but hey, what Roy wants, he usually gets. And even Roy gets the Gernando bromance, which knows no bounds. Thoughts?
