Raúl Madrid No More

I never thought RM would ever do this  to Raúl (especially like this, meaning let him go without a proper farewell match) but they outdid their usual douchebagginess and did. Post some beautiful Raúl + Real photos to remember all that he's done for us and to prepare me for the day...oh and you can add Guti too because he's bouncing as well.

Raul set for Real exit

Real Madrid have called a press conference on Monday that is likely to see the exit of club captain and all-time leading goalscorer Raul from the club.

The iconic forward has spent his entire senior career at the Bernabeu, scoring 323 goals in over 700 appearances in 16 years and achieving legendary status at the club.
However, the 33-year-old has been told he has no future at the club and will leave on a free transfer, where he is likely to join German side Schalke.

Hodgson reveals Torres has "beef" with club

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has given the clearest indication yet that Fernando Torres could be heading out of Anfield by suggesting the player has a long-standing gripe with the club.

Hodgson, who on Saturday saw his new team lose 1-0 to Kaiserslautern in Germany, said after the game that he was still hopeful Torres would follow captain Steven Gerrard in committing his future to the club. But now it appears something that went on behind the scenes when Rafael Benitez was in charge which may ultimately prevent that.

Chelsea are believed to be waiting in the wings with a big money offer should Torres decide he wants to leave Anfield, although the striker is currently out injured with a thigh strain sustained in the last moments of the World Cup final with Spain.

Hodgson told the News of the World: "Unfortunately, I cannot do much more. His beef is with the club and not me. Fernando's situation has nothing to do with me, he made that perfectly clear over the phone during the World Cup and when I met him face-to-face.

"He knows what I would like to do with the club. He knows how much I value him. But his issues are with what has gone on in the past rather than the future. If he has problems with the club for things in the past, it is difficult for me to dismiss that.

"People forget he is a Liverpool player. One year ago he signed a four-year contract. I hope he will commit himself by honouring his contract."

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is confident the capture of Joe Cole and retention of Gerrard will show Fernando Torres just how serious Hodgson is about moving the Reds forwards.

Dalglish, who is now the club's Academy ambassador, said: "When Torres sees that [Cole signing] and talks with Roy I am sure he will give us good news. I hope Torres stays. Only Fernando knows what is going to do. Unfortunately for him he is injured, but he is a fantastic player and is very happy around the club and the city.

Can transfer season just end? I really want Nando to just come out with it and say himself whether or not he's going to say. All of these rumors and all of this gossip is just making it more difficult for the supporters.

Portsmouth just can't catch a break

Portsmouth FC played  DC United yesterday, but had to wear United's white away kit because their kits got lost in transit. It was a bad day for Pompey, as if they don't have enough problems already.

As for DC United, they finally won...unfortunately it doesn't count for much. Their MLS season is sucking bad.

New Rules force City to sell 12 Players

Manchester City will have to offload around 12 players before the transfer window closes at the end of next month - otherwise they will be left with players they are unable to play.

New Premier League rules state that a club must submit a squad of 25 players on September 1, and only those players will be eligible to be named in a matchday squad. Clubs can supplement that list with an unlimited number of players aged 21 or under, but in Manchester City's case they are currently well over the 25-man limit.

Players such as Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamy, Jo, Felipe Caicedo, Micah Richards, Michael Johnson, Vincent Kompany, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Stephen Ireland, Nigel De Jong, Kelvin Etuhu, Pablo Zabaleta and Nedum Onuoha could find themselves out in the cold if they are still at Eastlands when the transfer window closes. Robinho is also officially still a City player.

And City could be forced to accept reduced fees for these players as rival clubs look to take advantage of their situation.

thank god for this. at least it's a bit more difficult these days to buy the title, not to mention the sale of these players could be good acquisitions for other clubs. the biggest thing that was worrying me about city was their depth of seemingly endless strikers and midfield players :/

Oh you wish you could do that

Spanish under-19 players showed the world a whole new way to take a penalty on.

(Dagbladet): Spain's A-team is the reigning European and world champion. But the youngsters also have their soccer skills in order.

During the U19 European Championships in France, the Spanish made ready for the semifinals after the outclassing of Italy yesterday.
Not so surprising, considering the Spanish talent work, but what made eye was 3-0-goal.

Ezequiel Calvente got some cheap punish the position 2-0 and Real Betis player took the responsibility.

Calvente ran towards the ball and all spoke that he might shoot with his right leg, but instead of putting down the foot stand and shoot with his right, he put the ball at the junction with the left leg. An incredible maneuver, at least considering the power and precision of the shot.

The keeper was naturally completely outplayed.

Spain will meet England in the semifinals Tuesday, the second semi-final is between France and Croatia.

PS! You can see the U19 Championship on Eurosport.

yay! first post :D sorry if it was already posted, and for my grammar mistakes :3 oh and i have no idea how to tag this.
