the U.S. men's national team is s000 cute

What do players do at the World Cup off the pitch? We find out with this cute tour of the US MNT's sick game room in South Africa given by midfielder Stuart Holden. Every national team should do this!

Damn, shizz's niiiiiice, but maybe Stu should stick to soccer football at least for now ;b

Hmmm maybe this is why the USA was so composed & ready for England, they seem totally relaxed. I wish they'd give Pique the microphone next, it's adorable, every national team should do this! Not gonna lie, I'd get to the world cup, just to hang out in the game room.

Torres issues Gerrard warning

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Fernando Torres has warned his Spanish teammates that Steven Gerrard and England represent a major threat to their World Cup dream.

Torres puts Gerrard and Wayne Rooney in the same bracket as Lionel Messi as the leading lights in South Africa - and he thinks they can take the Three Lions all the way.

"They have fantastic players all over the pitch. I have been telling the Spanish lads all about them," said El Nino.

"I see Gerrard and Rooney on the same level as Messi, Xavi, Kaka, Ronaldo and the other top players.

"It would be a dream to play England in the final and an England-Spain final would be a showcase of the two best nations in world football."

Meanwhile, Torres claims Gerrard would have been his choice for England captain even before Rio Ferdinand's knee injury.

"Stevie is the right choice as captain," said the 26-year-old.

"With all due respect I would have made him captain anyway before the Rio Ferdinand injury.

"He is the best captain I have ever played under. As long as we don't meet earlier, I see it being an England versus Spain final."

South Africa ponders vuvuzela ban.

South Africa's World Cup organising chief Danny Jordaan may ban vuvuzelas from inside stadiums after complaints from broadcasters and supporters.

The constant sound of the high-pitched horn-like instrument has so far drowned out much of the atmosphere-generating singing usually associated with games.

And Jordaan, when asked if he would get rid of them, told BBC Sport: "If there are grounds to do so, yes.

"We did say that if any land on the pitch in anger we will take action."

Jordaan conceded that while the noise was irritating for some people, they were doing all they could to minimise the impact.

"We've tried to get some order," he continued. "We have asked for no vuvuzelas during national anthems or stadium announcements. It's difficult but we're trying to manage the best we can.

"We've had some broadcasters and individuals [complaining] and it's something we are evaluating on an on-going basis."

Jordaan admitted he was not a huge fan of them himself. "I would prefer singing," he said.

"It's always been a great generator of a wonderful atmosphere in stadiums and I would try to encourage them to sing.

"In the days of the struggle (against apartheid) we were singing, all through our history it's our ability to sing that inspired and drove the emotions."

& bienvenida mr. sandro rosell

he's been with the club before, teaming up with laporta when they promised to sign david beckham and was also around when barcelona penned a deal with some guy named ronaldinho

nothing much will change, he's also mr. catalunya and he'll still go after cesc. i'm suspicious of his motives tbh but i just hope he doesn't fuck up anything with the team and finances.

Most Americans didn't know what to make of the headline. "How did we still win if it was a tie?" I had a good time explaining this to people :b I'm just happy they were interested for once!!!

fashin + futbol ??????????????????????????????????

There's a magazine from Germany called Sepp (guess who it's named after??) that comes out every few years for the European Championship and the World Cup, with the main focus of combining football and fashion.

Not sure how you feel about this combination? Well by fashion I don't mean the DSquared shirts we see every player on the Spain NT wearing or Alex Curran's fur from Top Shop. A big chunk of the contributors are noted figures from the industry, such as Donatella Versace and Karl Lagerfeld to name a few. And the editorials are put together by famous fashion photographers and art directors, and donned by familiar-faced models. If you still think the project sounds stupid, well Mr. Blatter doesn't agree because it's a FIFA sanctioned magazine!

The latest edition:

Featuring: Karl Lagerfeld's World Cup star portraits

Yes baby!

In between having embarassing arguments with Patrick Stuart and having a kick about with his hot new flatmate Doctor Who, James Corden hung about with Boris Becker and Dizzee Rascal before going for a quick game of golf with England Captain Steven Gerrard on James Corden's World Cup Live tonight.
