Meet Pepe. The man that claims to have put a spell on Ronaldo.

Thank you for leaving your shirt open. Because we all need that on a Sunday.

You only need pictures? Does this mean I can do this to anyone?

Xabi is sick of all the commentators in Liverpool matches that can't shut up about him either.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Since we can't have nice things like sparkle text anymore, have the opening paragraph on this interview with the Guardian before the Clásico really big instead:

Xabi Alonso has one question at the very start. "Is this going to be all about Liverpool or is it going to be about Real Madrid and El Gran Clásico, too?" he says, with no little wariness. Liverpool are out of the Champions League. Their hopes of a first Premier League title in two decades are perilously slim and many people, including the captain Steven Gerrard, believe that Alonso's summer departure has been the key contributing factor. A pause. "Well, Xabi, you see the thing is ..."

He goes on to talk more about Liverpool (duh, what else do they want to talk about), his possible future as a manager, and turning his whole family into Madrid fans (even his dad?). Best bit though? "I was happy with the decision that I took and I would do it again," says Alonso, whose wife is expecting their second child, a daughter, in April. "I have no regrets."

Yup, bb Jon is getting a sister! CONGRATULATIONS! *imaginary sparkles and confetti and balloons, since we can't have nice things anymore*

Republic of Ireland ask for extra 2010 World Cup place.

Fifa's Sepp Blatter has revealed the Republic of Ireland have requested a spot in the 2010 World Cup finals as an extra team after their play-off defeat.

The Republic lost to an extra-time goal against France when Thierry Henry handled the ball during the build-up.

"I will bring it to the attention of the Executive Committee," said Blatter.

The president of football's world governing body added that goal-line technology and extra referees would be considered for the South Africa finals.

The executive committee will hold an emergency meeting in Cape Town on Wednesday, two days ahead of the draw for the finals, to assess the idea of extra match officials.

If they recommend the proposal it will go before football's rule-making international board in Zurich in March for a final decision.

"It's possible we will make additional officials for the World Cup but we have to see if it is feasible or realistic," added Blatter. "Something has to be done in terms of match control.

"We have only one man on the field of play who shall intervene in this matter. He has two assistants for the time being, perhaps more in the future. He has to make an immediate decision.

"He has only two eyes. So match control is now is on the agenda. How shall we avoid such situations as we have seen in this very specific match?"

Regarding the Republic's case, the president added that Costa Rica, who also believe they were unfairly denied a place in the finals - this time because of an offside goal from Uruguay - would also have to be acknowledged if extra places are discussed.

The Republic originally asked for the play-off to be replayed but that request was immediately denied by Fifa officials.

The man at the centre of the storm, Henry, released a statement two days after the infamous match in which he said a replay would have been "the fairest solution."

now, i know that they feel that they were hard done by but they need to let it go, its getting ridiculous.

Top 100: Greatest Matches

Over the past few months, Eurosport has been counting down the top 100 greatest matches ever played. Last week they finally revealed their number one. Keep in mind it's a publication out of the UK so a lot of the matches are from the EPL. You can click the source to read more about each match.

How they made the list

'The list, obviously, is subjective. All the number-crunching in the world will not tell you whether the 1930 World Cup final was greater than a 9-6 thriller in the Isthmian Leagues.

Their nature is so different it is like trying to decide whether you prefer an orange or a tin opener.

We picked the brains of all the Eurosport offices from around the continent to pick a truly global list but make no apology that the list is weighted in favour of English clubs.'

Benzema in a car accident

Benzema escapes car accident
By Soccernet staff

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema reportedly escaped unharmed from a minor car accident on his way home from his team's 1-0 defeat to Barcelona last night.

According to Spanish sports daily Marca, the Frenchman's vehicle was seriously damaged when he hit a barrier while travelling in the Madrid suburbs, but the player was not hurt.

The 21-year-old former Lyon striker was introduced with half an hour remaining at the Nou Camp in Sunday's night's El Clasico as Manuel Pellegrini's side surrendered top spot in La Liga.

Benzema has struggled to impress since his £30 million move from Ligue 1, netting four goals in 13 games for Real.

Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema Involved In Car Accident - Report
The Frenchman emerged unscathed from a minor accident near his house...

After suffering a defeat at the hands of Barcelona on Sunday night, the hapless evening of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was completed after he was involved in a car crash.

Los Blancos' returned to Valdebebas on the team coach, where they then went their separate ways back to their respective homes.

However, AS report that Benzema's journey ended prematurely after he drove his Audi into some barriers and then an oak tree close to his house.

His car was badly damaged, but fortunately for the 21-year-old, he emerged unscathed despite crashing at around 40-50 kilometres an hour.

The accident took place at around 02:00 CET on Monday morning. A number of other Real Madrid players, such as Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo, live in the same area.

Nike v AIDS in Africa (With the Help of Footballers)

In a press conference today in London, Nike announced that they're officially down with (RED), which means they're going to be selling (RED) shoelaces (which, not surprisingly, are the color red) and splitting 100% of the proceeds between The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and "football-based community initiatives that deliver education and understanding around HIV/AIDS prevention." To give more heft to the event, Nike invited Bono (who it turns out co-founded (RED), so he had a legit reason to be there) and a whole bunch of footballers to talk about and wear red shoelaces, namely: Joe Cole, Andrei Arshavin, Marco Materazzi, Denilson, Lucas Neill, Clint Dempsey and Seol Ki-Hyeon.

Trouble in Barca Paradise?

I just read an article at with "reliable inside information" from Swedish TV4's football experts, who are working "closely with the team" within the Barcelona camp. The experts interviewed in the article claim that Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are not on speaking terms, and that the mood between the two stars is hostile and cold.

Messi is supposed to feel threatened by Ibrahimovic, and the experts are claiming that Messi has been trying to keep Zlatan from getting the ball in the last few matches:

- "They do not even talk to each other, "said TV4's Jesper Hussfelt live before yesterday's big game.

Uh oh, dramaz! :S Have any of you Barca ladies noticed anything in the last few matches, like the experts claim? And please, let's keep in mind that the Swedish experts and newspapers probably have a strong Zlatan-favorable bias. But still.

Oh, and the article is in Swedish right here, ready to be TransGoogle'd for your reading "pleasure":

the future of pav nearly sorted?

Pavlyuchenko agent awaits Roma talks

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent expects the Tottenham striker's future to become clearer by Tuesday after he revealed he is set for talks with Serie A giants Roma.

Pavlyuchenko has made no secret of his discontent at White Hart Lane in recent weeks and has been linked with a number of clubs as he looks to secure first-team football ahead of next summer's World Cup finals. Roma are favourites to win the race for Pavlyuchenko's signature and the out-of-favour striker could head to the Italian capital in January if upcoming talks prove fruitful.

"We're meeting Roma on Monday or Tuesday for Roman," Oliver Wendt told "Roman wants to leave London and he wants to go to Roma. If Tottenham allow him to go, Roman could be a Roma player.

"Everything depends on the meeting we will have with Roma.

"I had contact with the Roma directors last week too and they showed they were interested."

Liverpool and Spartak Moscow are reportedly among the clubs interested in the Russia international, who has slipped behind Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Why does Harry never play him? The odd time I've seen him he's seemed decent enough or am I missing something?

UNICEF Gala Dinner at Old Trafford in Manchester

Yesterday evening United players showed their best and come for UNICEF Gala Dinner at Old Trafford. It's a traditional evening for the team, but every year we wait how they will be looking this time? And as always black suits can't spoil them.
And of course one of the special booms was Berbatov's new hair.
We should mention that Owen Hargreaves has shaved!!!
And sure Coleen was stunning as she gave the birth to Kai recently.
Ana Vidic doesn't need any descriptions. This woman is absolutely hot.
