Yes, I know... I'm sorry. I left Sunday to go to Philly for work for 2 weeks and my wifi here is a bit sketchy. It's taken me all week to get this shit together and it's not at all the usual pic count. Sorry everyone.

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet... CARLES PUYOL RENEWS CONTRACT UNTIL 2013

CARLES PUYOL ACCEPTS NEW BARCELONA DEAL

BARCELONA HAVE SECURED THE SERVICES OF THEIR CLUB CAPTAIN FOR THE REST OF HIS CAREER..

Carles Puyol is set to put an end to all the speculation by penning a new deal with Barcelona to keep him at the club until 2013, according to the Catalan club.

The Blaugrana captain's current deal is due to run out at the end of the current season and talks had been put on hold while the player received assurances about his place in the team.

While no decision was made, rumours surfaced that Puyol could be included in a deal to sign Robinho from Manchester City, while Arsenal were also said to be monitoring his situation.

Having been at Camp Nou since he joined the youth ranks in 1995 the 31-year-old stated that he never wanted to leave, despite his agent claiming he needed to be certain he would play regularly.

A deal has been struck that will see Puyol remain at Barcelona until 2013, when he will be 35, and should be signed and made official early next week, the club's official website reported.

"Carles will stay here for many years because he is a Barca man," Xavi was quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo. "He is an example to everyone and his renewal is fantastic news."
