The pace and skill he would bring to the centre of the midfield are thought to be a key factors, the clubs other targets Alan Smith and Mark Viduka are both said to be more keen on moves to the Championship. The double swoop for Nicky Butt and Michael Owen is expected to be completed in the next 2-3 days.

Tattoed hotness :P

*waves shyly*

Hey, people. It's the very first time that I post something here. I have been realized that there is not enough Torsten Frings adullation here, but I think that the next pic is something very worthy to share. Anyway, he is hot (OK, I KNOW that I am not objective in this matter, hehehehe, as his community owner :P)

So, have a great time contemplating this incredible hot shot. Hope you'll like :)

Owen PASSES first medical. He can't do anything right :@

08.40 Sky Sports News understands that Michael Owen underwent an initial examination on his knee on Thursday and will undergo a full medical later today before completing his surprise free transfer switch to Manchester United.

It is really happening, finding it hard to believe. Imagine, well if United don't buy ANYONE else apart from Valencia and oh and another cripped Owen then yeah, goodbye everything. On the plus side, at least he won't mind bench warming though I can imagine constant rotating between Rooney and Owen on the treatment table. I think SAF should bid for Heskey now. £80 million cold hard cash and we've "bought" Owen and Valencia (not that I mind the latter). I wouldn't mind a freebie/injury prone if I thought it meant we bought another striker but this seems unlikely.

Chelsea reject £30 mill Man City Terry bid

John Terry and Frank Lampard
Terry reiterated his commitment to Chelsea after a bid from Man City in 2008

Chelsea have confirmed they have "completely rejected" an offer from Manchester City for their club captain and England skipper John Terry.

City also had an approach for the 28-year-old turned down in late 2008.

"It was made clear, for the second time, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject," read a statement on Chelsea's website.

The size of City's offer for Terry, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2012, was not revealed.

"We would like to make it clear, and we will not do so again, that John is not for sale," added the club statement.

Terry has played 405 games in 12 years at Stamford Bridge, scoring 35 goals in the process, with chief executive Peter Kenyon describing him as "part of the heart and soul of Chelsea" when City last made a bid.

A product of Chelsea's youth academy, Terry has captained the club to two Premier League titles, two FA Cup successes and two League Cup wins.

But success on the European stage has so far eluded Terry, although he came within a successful penalty of lifting the Champions League trophy against Manchester United in 2008. :)

just sign a deal already

Elmundodeportivo spent some time with David Villa in his homeground of Asturias after he met with Txiki (Barca's director) and his representative yesterday.

They promised to report back with details the following day, but kinda let us down by just recapping their brief greet with him, lol I was expecting a juicy article about his rumoured transfer to Barca. But anyway, EMD seem pretty confident that he's on his way to the Camp Nou -- and Real Madrid have moved on, so I guess a deal seems imminent.

Jermain Defoe is having a truly shit year.

England footballer Jermain Defoe in shock after seeing late half-brother's grandmother collapse and die at his funeral

England striker Jermain Defoe was struck by a double tragedy when the grandmother of his half-brother dropped dead at his funeral.

Spurs player Defoe and his family watched in horror as Rebecca Carr collapsed as she was getting into a mourners car.

The group had been about to follow a horse-drawn carriage carrying the body of Jade Defoe, 26, who died in April after being beaten up in East London.

They frantically tried to revive the 64-year-old in the street before paramedics arrived to take over. She was taken to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

Her family said she had been distraught at the prospect of the grandson she doted on being buried.

Jade's mother Judy Cobham told The Sun: 'It has just been horrific. I buried my son and watched my mother die on the same day. Jermain was by the car.

'We are all in shock. We are all as a family still trying to come to terms with him being murdered and now have to bear the loss of his doting grandmother.'

Her own mother had been 'heartbroken' at Jade's death, she added. 'She couldn't bear to see him buried and in the end she didn't.'

The funeral last Friday had to be delayed for almost an hour while mourners waited for news and Jade was buried later, with Jermain acting as one of the pallbearers.

The two men shared the same father, Jimmy, but the footballer is no relation to Miss Carr.

Jade - a rapper - was ambushed and beaten up in Leytonstone, east London, in April. He suffered serious head injuries and fell into a coma.

Jermain had joined other relatives on a bedside vigil but he died several days later.

Christopher Farley, 33, from Leytonstone, has been charged with his murder. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey in August.

Everyone wants to see drunken German bbs, right?

I don't know how many of you watched the UEFA EURO 2009 U21 CHAMPIONSHIP, or even cared about it but as a person who went there and saw five games and has seen it all live (red card, manpile, saved penalty, penalty shoot out, some team winning the trophy...) I can say it was one hell of an amazing tournament. Even if my team never got through group stage.

Anyways, I bet this video hasn't been posted yet since, well, I'm the one who took it.

Don't mind us talking in the background, or my camera making weird noises, or that one son of a bitch throwing that bottle at us by accident, concentrate on the lovely singing and dancing. Thank you. Also, it wasn't the whole dance. It was 5am, it took me quite lot of time to figure out I should have my camera out, and then actually take video with it (first it was just photos). Then, I didn't run after when they started dancing through the street.

The ones on the video I have identified are Sami Khedira and Tobias Sippel. I did indentify the rest too but don't ask me who they are, I can't remember even as I sit here with the Official Programme open in front of my nose on the Germany page.

[i can make anything relevant to my current interests! ph34r me!]

Ok, so while drowing my Wimbledon sorrows in a Google Image Search, I come across these sparkly gems! The actual event was from April, but I didn't see these mentioned.

Who is REALLY the special one?

This month's FourFourTwo came with a pull-out debating the 20 greatest managers in British football.
I figured it was pretty interesting so... here's the Top 10! (Because I'm a lazy arse and can't be bothered to type out all the stuff...)

Ok, feel free to argue about this amongst yourselves. I'm going to give FourFourTwo a call and ask where Mark Stimson is.

as the article isn't actually on the website...

[Spain] David & Cesc

Alvaro is a Married

Alvaro got married earlier today to his girlfriend Carlota in the church Santiago el Mayor de Zaragoza. The ceremony was attended by their family, friends, and other fellow footballers.

The article is in Spanish so I’m sorry for those that don’t understand it but I couldn’t find it in English. It basically just talks about where and when the ceremony took place, who attended, and Alvaro’s football career.

Reds capture Owen

Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has signed Michael Owen on a two year contract. The striker was out of contract, so no transfer fee is involved.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Michael is a world class forward with a proven goalscoring record at the highest level and that has never been in question. Coming to Manchester United with the expectations that we have is something that Michael will relish”

Michael Owen said: "I had just begun to talk to other Clubs when out of the blue Sir Alex phoned me on Wednesday afternoon, invited me to have breakfast with him next morning during which he told me that he wanted to sign me. I agreed without a moment's thought.

This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend to seize it with both hands.

I am now looking forward to being a Manchester United player and I am fortunate that I already know so many of the players here. I missed pre season last year and am pleased that I will be starting at Carrington from day one.

I want to thank Sir Alex for the faith he has shown in me and I give him my assurance that I will repay him with my goals and performances”
