Random Barcelona post because i need a distraction from Madrid's press

Apparently when Guardiola showed up for training yesterday morning he realized he was
missing a few players: Alves, Xavi, Eto'o, Toure, Gudjohnsen & Messi

They all turned up a minute late and according to the article Pep fined them 500 euros

I don't know if it is true or not but it certainly is interesting.
I can totally imagine Pep being all: "Yes i liked copa del rey too but get your heads out of the clouds NOW because we have a date in Rome and you have to be presentable, éntes? (my spanish is non-existent but i think i got the word right)

Oh, under the cut there´s the training video. All spotted on Dirty Tackle who got it right, 0:10 is the moment to watch
but do not be fooled like them,Collapse )

Edit:there's also an article on AS about this but i refuse to link there. i'm too annoyed, sorry..

Inter's Luis Figo Retires From Football

The Portuguese legend has announced his retirement from football, following the Nerazzurri's Scudetto success tonight...

Luis Figo has hung up his boots, after Inter were crowned Italian champions following AC Milan's 2-1 defeat at Udinese.

Figo, 36, had already been linked with retirement last season after a bust-up with coach Roberto Mancini but Jose Mourinho's appointment made him reconsider and continue at the club for another year.

The 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year has now decided to call time on a very successful 20-year career on the same night Inter won their 17th Serie A trophy.

"This is the first time I am champion without playing," he told A BOLA. "This is the best way to end."

The winger believes this Serie A trophy was special as Inter faced stiff competition to finish at the top of the table.

"In Italy, winning a title is always very hard, but with everyone in the fight [Juventus, AC Milan and Roma], unlike what happened with the other titles we claimed, you can say that this one was a little bit different, a little bit harder," he added.

Figo signed a deal with Al-Ittihad in 2007 but reneged on the offer after the Saudi Arabian side failed to meet the terms of the agreement.

And Figo, who has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer in the past, admits he could postpone retirement in order to play in a league outside of Europe.

He said, "I will not play again at the highest level," he said. "And I will most likely not accept any offer. Only if something special emerges and it is from outside of Europe. But it is not likely."

Figo, who was involved in a hugely controversial move from Barcelona to Real Madrid in 2000, won a total of 23 titles during his career, including a Champions League trophy in 2001.

The Portuguese ace made 127 appearances for his country, guiding the Seleccao to the Euro 2004 final, where they lost to Greece, and a fourth-place finish at the 2006 World Cup.

YOU WILL BE MISSED FIGO.

An interview with Bouchra (RVP's wife)

SOCCER star Robin van Persie’s wife has told for the first time how their marriage almost ended after he was accused of rape.

Mistake

Dutch-Moroccan beauty Bouchra said: “Robin made a big mistake. It would have been easy at the time to leave him. I was a very angry girl.

Bouchra Elbali, 25, broke her silence over the scandal as she revealed she was pregnant with their second child.

Arsenal striker Van Persie, 25, was held behind bars for two weeks in his native Holland in 2005 after a pole dancer there falsely accused him of rape.

He admitted having sex with Sandra Boma Krijgsman, 21, but insisted it was consensual.

The Gunners ace cleared his name and was eventually released without charge.

“I could have continued with my life and found another guy. But I didn’t want that because what we have together is very special. I don’t think there’s anybody else in the world who is like him. Every human being is allowed to make a mistake.

“It sounds strange to say it, but after that time we now have an even better relationship. It has brought the best out of both of us.

“It was a break point — did we stop or did we continue?

“And we both agreed that we should continue.”

She also said that her mother had warned her against seeing Van Persie when they got together as 19-year-olds in Holland.

She added: “He was my first serious boyfriend and I was his first serious girlfriend.

“My mother said to me right at the beginning, ‘My dear, don’t go with a footballer because they are never serious’, but now she is very fond of him. He is so honest and lovely.

“Every morning we get up together and Robin makes breakfast for all of us and then we have a shower together.”

Van Persie, who joined Arsenal in 2004, added: “We are so happy. My wife is lovely.”

IDK how to summarize my thoughts on this interview...at least Robin can cook, but did I have to know about the morning showers!? Also, can we please have a rousing WHOMP WHOMP for cheating on the wife!! At least they worked it out in the end.

I know everyone is probably either watching Eurovision or the Villarreal - Real Madrid match but I am abusing google images looking at Nicklas Bendtner pictures.

ANYWAY google images directed me to this http://www.talk-sports.net/pl/history.aspx/Nicklas_Bendtner which is clearly a source de journalistic integrity as its all "my cousin's best friend's bus driver said" but really it is lol as Nicklas was apparently sighted with this lady. They probably met at Movida.
