Beckham adds more $£€s to his bank account

Would you buy a cell phone if David Beckham endorsed in it?

David wants to play in the Milan shirt, while others miss him in the United shirt, and Casillas probably wishes he was still wearing the Madrid shirt. But i personally prefer him with no shirt (and his mouth closed)

Torres: I want an Italian job

(source: daylife. cough cough)

according to THE SUN (yeah. ok. sorry liverpool fans who alos hate the sun, especially the *imo* hypocritical coverage of the hillsborough disaster):

'FERNANDO TORRES admits he would relish playing football in Italy at some point in his career.

The Liverpool striker, 25, has been hit on Merseyside since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2007.

But while the Spaniard envisages a long spell at Anfield, he admits the lure of playing for a top Serie A club is still there.

He said: "One day I could play for a great club like AC Milan or Inter, then I would be able to say that I have played in the three most important leagues in the world — the Spanish, the English and the Italian.

"Who knows, maybe one day I could even have the option of the Bundesliga.

"I want to stay at Liverpool for many years yet. I feel at home here and I have another four years on my contract.

"This club has been fantastic to me and has treated me like Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.

"I'm hoping to repay this warmth by winning the Premier League — a title that has been missing for so long." '

Benitez keen to keep Alonso

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has expressed his determination to hang on to midfielder Xabi Alonso, despite appearing ready to sell him to fund the purchase of Gareth Barry from Aston Villa last summer.

The Spaniard looked to be on his way out of Anfield last summer, when a number of clubs were interested in securing his services.

Benitez insisted it would take a "massive" offer for him to part with Alonso and was not tempted by a proposal from Juventus.

The 27-year-old has gone on to enjoy an excellent season, helping the Reds challenge for the Premier League title.

Press reports suggest Real Madrid and Barcelona could target Alonso when the transfer window reopens but Benitez has warned any potential suitors he will fight to keep hold of Alonso.

"We had an offer from Juventus and asked a big price as he is a big player. They couldn't meet it," Benitez said. "In the end, Xabi has been having a very good season. He has been playing well in a lot of games and is a key player for us.

"We have a lot of confidence in him and he is a player we want to keep because he has the quality, and the game, that we need."

ohhh snap

Sam Allardyce has launched a scathing attack on Rafa Benitez in the wake of Blackburn's 4-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday.

Allardyce has accused the Spaniard of being 'disrespectful' and 'humiliating' over gestures he made on the touchline after Fernando Torres had headed the home side into a two-goal lead before the interval.

Television replays showed Benitez shrugged his shoulders and then crossed his hands, which Allardyce has taken to mean that the Reds boss felt the game was already over, even though there was almost an hour still to play.

Relegation-threatened Rovers, who were second best throughout the match, were missing several players through injury and employed centre-back Chris Samba in a lone striking role.

Allardyce claims he attempted to speak to Benitez about his actions after the game but could not make contact with the Spaniard and has been left fuming by the incident.

He told Sky Sports News: "It's not out of our system for two reasons. One is the disappointment at the way the team performed. I know we had a lot of injuries on the day, but I still felt that we should have gone there and done better than we did.

"And two, is the unfortunate gestures from Rafa Benitez after the second goal. I wanted to clarify his gestures. I think you'll see them as pretty dismissive to me and to Blackburn Rovers' team as a whole.

"I think they are disrespectful and quite humiliating.

"I waited to have a word with Rafa Benitez in his room after the game but as usual, and unfortunately, he didn't turn up.

"I was hugely disappointed by those gestures and having re-looked at them this week I think I'm right and I think everyone will see why I'm complaining."

When asked if he felt Benitez was writing his side off, Allardyce replied: "That was the feeling by the gestures. It was an open arms and a cross-over of arms as if that was it.

"The game is hard enough as it is without a fellow manager trying to do, what seemed to be, an undermining gesture."

united's biggest fangirl has something fangirlish to say, remains sexy whilst doing so

so i was browsing my sports sources this morning and eventhough it is THE SCUM (otherwise known as The Sun) i found this:

Becks tips United for glory

DAVID BECKHAM believes Manchester United can become the first club since AC Milan to win back-to-back Champions League titles.

Milan, who have Becks on loan from LA Galaxy, successfully defended European football's greatest prize in 1990 after winning it the year before.

And the England midfielder is backing United to emulate the Italian giants by following up last year's success with more glory this season.

Beckham, 33, said: "This season I would like to see a Manchester United-Barcelona final.

"My former team-mates would win because at this time they are the strongest team around."

Beckham, who won the Champions League with United in 1999, also admits he would love another chance to play in the competition.

He added: "I miss the Champions League so much.

"It is my dream to play in it again next season."

Credit to Plessis for ignoring him

Let him have a few training sessions with the first team so Stevie and the lads can show him what they think of his behaviour then sack him. He's an absolute disgrace

Gerrard is going to be sidelined for 7-10 days... meaning, he will be missing the Arsenal match next Tuesday.

"In the training session before the Champions League game with Chelsea, Steven Gerrard unfortunately aggravated a small strain he had previously suffered in the adductor muscle. A scan has since confirmed our medical team's initial diagnosis and the player is expected to be out for between seven and 10 days."

The toughest games we have left are against Arsenal and Tottenham, so it's shitty that we're gonna be missing him next week at a time where we cannot drop points. Of course, we don't need him to win games, but things are always easier with our captain around. He might also be out for Hull next Saturday, and they are a team that have given the top 4 sides trouble this season.

Also, Liverpool are getting Voronin back because Hertha cannot afford his transfer fee and salary. He can't buy out his own contract, and he has about 2 years left at Liverpool. If Hertha qualify for the Champions League then a deal might be possible but so far, it seems like he's on his way back to Merseyside.

Um, this sucks because Hertha love him and he seems to hate Liverpool and I don't really think that he fits into the squad. Plus I don't like his hair and we have Dosenna to score goals.
