I am pleased to show you a pic of Luis Aragonés a day before of the Turkey v Spain qualifying match. It's a very great one and for the lucky of my injured arm (yeah, I picked an injury while watching football XD) the pic speaks for itself and I don't need to type more words.

Liverpool Football Club today confirmed Steven Gerrard has agreed a two-year extension to his current contract.
The Liverpool skipper, who has two years to run on his current deal, will soon put pen to paper on a new agreement to keep him at Anfield until at least 2013.

With manager Rafa Benitez and key members of his backroom team signing new contracts over the past two weeks, Gerrard's deal is another timely boost as the Reds look to end the season on a high.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv this morning, Benitez said: "This is fantastic news for the club.

"Steven has once again shown his commitment and it was an easy deal to agree. As soon as we offered him the option he said yes. There were no problems at all. He wants to stay for life.

"This deal sends out another clear message that we are moving forward as a club. To know we have a player of Steven's quality with us for many more years is a great boost for the club and the fans.

"He is clearly a player who inspires those around him and even though he is playing very well at the moment, I still think his best years are ahead of him."

Oh and there's the small matter of tha court case, he's gone and pleaded innocence to the charge of affray

Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor

Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor have been banned from ever representing Scotland again after their bench antics against Iceland in midweek.

The pair were caught on camera making childish "V signs" across their faces at television cameras. They had been dropped for the Iceland World Cup qualifier after breaking squad discipline and spending the night drinking.

Ferguson said: "I deeply regret what happened last weekend and the events during the last week and apologise wholeheartedly for the embarrassment caused to Scotland, Rangers, both sets of supporters and my friends and family.

"I have always considered playing for Rangers and Scotland an honour and a privilege and nothing will change that and I am bitterly disappointed by the announcement that I will not be selected for Scotland again."

McGregor - who made his competitive debut against Holland on Saturday - added: "I was absolutely delighted to be selected for Scotland last weekend and I am deeply sorry over what has happened since then.

"We all make mistakes in life and I am very disappointed to have let Rangers, Scotland, my family, all the fans down.

"I am also desperately disappointed that I will not be selected again for Scotland at this stage in my career."

The beautiful game as done by beautiful ladies...

CARSON, Calif. (March 29, 2009) - The Los Angeles Sol officially kicked off the 2009 Women’s Professional Soccer season with a 2-0 victory over the Washington Freedom in front of 14,832 fans in the WPS Inaugural Match at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University – Dominguez Hills Sunday afternoon.

The first goal in club and league history was recorded in the sixth minute of the match, when Los Angeles defender Allison Falk out-jumped a crowd of Freedom defenders in the penalty area to head in a free kick from Japanese national team star Aya Miyama.

I thought the game was good for a first game. Considering the teams had only been together for about a month and the internationals had only been there for 2 weeks. They showed a lot of promise. They need to pick up the pace.

1st goal was lame, it looked like a foul. 2nd goal was sweet.

Liverpool duo claim Barclays awards

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez and captain Steven Gerrard have been named the Barclays Premier League manager and player of the month for March.

The Reds enjoyed an outstanding month as they reignited their Premier League title challenge with emphatic wins over champions Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Liverpool also beat Sunderland to collect maximum points from March and move into April a point behind leaders United.

Gerrard, who netted in the 4-1 rout of United and fired a hat-trick in the 5-0 demolition of Villa, has now won the player’s prize an unprecedented five times.

It is also Benitez’s fifth such award and his second this season having last been recognised in October.

Squeaky Bum Time has begun!

Ferguson bemoans 'crazy' fixture list

Alex Ferguson has urged someone to step in and solve the fixture chaos that will force Manchester United to play two games in little more than 48 hours.

United's Premier League encounter with Aston Villa will take place at Old Trafford on Sunday, with a 4pm kick-off, even though the Red Devils tackle FC Porto in the Champions League quarter-final next Tuesday.

Rafa Benitez doesn't understand "squeaky bum time".

In fairness, in relation to the article above^^^, it is a crazy mad amount of games they have left to play but unfortunately there's only a matter of weeks left in which they have to play them all. That's what a quintuple mission along with Internationals can do to a club.
