Ibra reveals European frustration

Disgruntled Inter Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said he would gladly swap another Serie A title for a UEFA Champions League crown. The Swede has hinted at a possible exit from I Nerazzurri at the end of the season, as he has made it clear he is not happy at yet another European failure.

Inter were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United in the last 16, a year after losing at the same stage to Liverpool. And now Ibrahimovic has insisted it is success in Europe that he wants most of all.
"If I could swap the scudetto for the Champions League, I'd do it without a second thought."

"I want the Champions League. Every year I have to postpone the appointment and I'm not happy about it," he told GQ magazine. "I play to win, that's my mentality. If I could swap the scudetto for the Champions League, I'd do it without a second thought."

Inter were a little unfortunate this season in drawing the reigning champions in the first knock-out round, but Ibra said that is no excuse. "But we are Inter and don't talk to me about the (bad) luck of the draw," he added.

"I wanted United because if you want to win, sooner or later you have to beat them. However, they proved to be more organised. If one player goes out and another comes in, he does the same job and you can't see any difference.

"The defeat to Manchester has made me very annoyed. This time I really believed, I saw the opportunity and I'm not happy about losing. If I win (another) scudetto it will be a great honour but if I could swap it for the Champions League I would, I really miss that."

Ibrahimovic has two Serie A titles to his name, but has never come close to winning the Champions League.

Reason Behind JT's Goal Celebration

John Terry celebrated his winner for England against Ukraine by receiving an imaginary haircut from Wayne Rooney.

Earlier in the week, Rooney had actually cut the skipper’s hair to get round a rule that prevented them from leaving the team hotel. 'I needed a haircut, but we weren't allowed to leave the hotel,' Terry said. 'I asked Wazza and he obliged by giving me a little trim. I'm pleased with it and I might go back next time. He was asking for a tenner for it, but I still owe him.'

I must say, the emerging bff-ness of John Terry and Wayne Rooney is kind of adorable.

I think he is mostly just happy they won in spite of his own goal.

This is what they probably listened to on the bus on the way back to the hotel since they don't roll like the Spaniards and listen to Jambao.

Lampsy's new WAG

She has been enjoying quiet romantic liaisons with Frank Lampard in recent weeks but last night former model Saskia Boxford took her first step towards becoming his official WAG.
The 23-year-old cheered on the midfielder from the stands at Wembley last night as England defeated Ukraine a World Cup qualifying match.
Her presence in the crowd suggests the relationship is getting serious considering such invites are usually reserved for a footballer's significant other.

Cesc, Adebayor and Walcott back for Man City

Cesc Fabregas is set to be named in the Arsenal squad on Saturday for the first time since before Christmas.

The captain was last seen hobbling off just before half time against Liverpool on December 21 after picking up an injury to his knee ligaments.

The return of Fabregas is one of the major names involved in Arsenal's injury merry-go-round before the game against Manchester City on Saturday. Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring) is back after two months out while Theo Walcott (knee) is available following a fortnight on the sidelines.

But Robin van Persie (groin), Eduardo (groin) and Abou Diaby (thigh) will be absent after all three picked up injuries on international duty. Samir Nasri (flu) and Carlos Vela (fatigue) may also miss out. But Nicklas Bendtner should be available despite picking up a knee problem for Denmark on Saturday.

"We have lost Robin van Persie for a groin problem," manager Arsène Wenger said.

"We have also lost Eduardo through a groin problem, he picked it up after 80 minutes in the Croatian game. We lose aswell Abou Diaby with a thigh problem that he picked up in France in training. We might lose Nasri too because he came back with flu and could not practice today.

"So three players are out and there is a question mark over Nasri. But Fabregas, Adebayor and Walcott are all back and available in the squad.

"Nicklas texted us last night and said everything was alright with him. But Carlos Vela, I count out because he lands on Friday morning at 10.30am. However if needed he can be in the squad." LOL I WONDER IF HE USED HIS BLACKBERRY

Spurs' new stadium will seat spectators closer to the pitch.

Tottenham's new stadium will have a 58,000 capacity, with the ground designed to seat spectators close to the pitch to maximise its atmosphere.

"Having the fans up close can lift the team," said striker Robbie Keane.

The full planning application for the new ground, which will be adjacent to their current White Hart Lane stadium, is due in the next few months.

The new plans also include a 150-room hotel as well as a public square that could be used for community events.

"Too often new stadiums are surrounded by empty, dead space and we did not want that in Tottenham," said Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

"Instead, with these new plans for the public square and public space, we have embraced the opportunity to create something truly special for local people."

The public space could be used for a temporary ice rink or street markets.

The latest plans will be revealed as part of a second public consultation, taking place from 2 to 7 April.
