Bayern Munich winger Frank Ribery's agent Alain Migliaccio has revealed that the Frenchman could move to Manchester United if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to join Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a summer move to Barcelona but now Migliaccio has thrown United's hat into the ring.

With rumours of Ronaldo's proposed move to Real Madrid refusing to go away, the former Marseille man's representative believes that, should the Portugal international join the Spanish champions, United would look to replace him with Ribery.

The French international star has been in scintillating form of late, highlighted in Bayern's 5-0 demolition away at Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions last-16 first leg where he scored twice and created two more.

"If Manchester United sells Cristiano Ronaldo, Sir Alex Ferguson would like to cover that transfer with Ribery's signature," Migliaccio told Bild.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta denied that his club had already reached an agreement to sign Ribery at the end of the season.

"We didn't speak with his representative nor with the player's entourage," he told L'Equipe.

"If one day we were to plan it, we would speak directly with his club."

Footballs Top Ten Highest Earners Are Revealed

Credit crunch? What credit crunch? The global financial crisis clearly hasn’t had much of an impact on the world’s best players if the most recent figures for players’ salaries are anything to go by.
Barclays Premier League stars John Terry, Frank Lampard and Cristiano Ronaldo are among the top ten best paid footballers on the planet with combined weekly earnings of nearly £500,000-a-week.
Money men: Cristiano Ronaldo is among the world’s top ten earners, yet his salary is still dwarfed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s £166,000 per week.

But the world’s best paid players strut their stuff on the continent. Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both paid £166,000-a-week by Milan giants AC and Inter, while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi earns just £10,000 less per week.

Here’s a table of the top ten salaries in world football, according to online analysts Football Finance.

per week:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan) - £166,000

2. Kaka (AC Milan) - £166,000

3. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - £156,000

4. John Terry (Chelsea) - £140,000

5. Frank Lampard (Chelsea) - £140,000

6. Thierry Henry (Barcelona) - £138,000

7. Samuel Eto’o (Barcelona) - 138,000

8. Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd) - £125,000

9. Ronaldinho (AC Milan) - £120,000

10. Andriy Shevchenko (AC Milan) - £120,000

SPANK LAMPARD isnotafuckingfootballer!!!

some pressing questions

Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo thought he had won a penalty during yesterday’s Carling Cup final when Ledley King tripped him in the area. Referee Chris Foy had other ideas and booked Ronaldo for diving. Replays show that King clearly caught the Portuguese international and that a penalty should have been given.

I suppose some people would call it karma.

did it look like a foul to you?
did the right man get booked?
was the ref being too harsh?
is ron the same diver he used to be?
once a diver, always a diver?
does he need to change his skincare routine?
will he follow the steps of his teammate r.ferdinand and make a sex tape?
who is spank lampard?
serious discussion only.

Chelsea Clear Out and Rio the Secret HP Fan?

Who will come and go in Chelsea’s summer clear-out?

Chairman Peter Buck plans departures and up to five new arrivals

Roman Abramovich’s wallet doesn’t open quite as often as it used to, but that won’t stop Chelsea playing a major role in the transfer market in the summer. Blues chairman Bruce Buck has today said the club will sign up to five new players for 2009/10, preferably using “internally generated cash”. Said cash will be generated by offloading some of their current stars:

We haven’t properly got together to talk about summer transfers yet, but I think that we could expect that several players will leave and that several players will come in.”"I don’t know whether that is three, four or five, but something in that kind of neighbourhood, so we can expect a handful to leave.

With Buck’s comments in mind, The Spoiler has compiled a list of the five players we expect Chelsea to part with, and five fresh faces that could soon call Stamford Bridge home...

Kobe Bryant to 'introduce' Marta at press conference

You have to give Kobe Bryant credit. The guy is one hell of an ambassador for soccer.

Kobe appeared in a Nike soccer commercial, took part in a Barcelona press conference in L.A. in 2006 and was recently on the cover of ESPN The Magazine wearing a Barcelona jersey.

Now he's showing some love to Women's Professional Soccer.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers star will be on hand for Marta's press conference at the Home Depot Center and will pose for pictures with the Los Angeles Sol star and three-time FIFA World Player of the Year.

Has Kobe's love for soccer changed how you feel about him?  I said yes, I really did hate him for a while
