Referee Helped Inter Win Scudetto Last Year - Philippe Mexes
After a perceived injustice last season, the French international defender is ready to disrupt Inter on Sunday.
Roma defender Philippe Mexes has stirred up the atmosphere ahead of the big game against Inter on Sunday by sensationally claiming that the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto last term thanks to referee Roberto Rosetti.
Rosetti was the official in charge of this fixture last season, which ended in Inter's favour after Mexes was shown a red card for what, he believes, was no reason. The sending off had an affect on the result of the match and the Scudetto - Roma were Inter's direct rival for the title last term.
Mexes has lashed out and he is ready to get revenge on Jose Mourinho's men when the teams clash at San Siro tomorrow night.
"Rosetti sent me off for nothing and that is also why we lost the Scudetto last year," Mexes told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"The referee is good but he always makes mistakes against me. He just sends me off - even for fouls I don't commit."
The Nerazzurri have been a class above the rest of Serie A this season, and it’s been reflected in their flawless league form. However, the French stopper is not afraid, believing his side can cause an upset.
"Inter are very strong physically,” said the defender. “They can put us in difficulty as we always have consistency problems.
"However, it's always a pleasure playing in these types of games. [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and Adriano don't scare me." source.

Ronaldo was the standout performer for Corinthians on Saturday, as he found the back of the net three times during a training match.
The former FIFA World Footballer of the Year was in the headlines the day before, for arriving late at training after spending the night and the early hours of the morning at a nightclub.
Ronaldo was fined by Corinthians, because of his late arrival. The club were particularly annoyed with him because it is just a matter of days before he will finally return to action after a long injury layoff.
Despite his three goals, Ronaldo's side lost the match 13 to 10. The training session served as preparation for Sunday's Paulista Championship clash with Marilia.
Ronaldo played some of his best football since arriving at Corinthians, as not only did he score three goals, but he showed flashes of his all-time best during the game. The striker was applauded by the 5,000 fans who attended the match.
Despite his good form, Ronaldo won't take part in the match with Marilia. Instead he will make his official Corinthians debut in the highly anticipated Paulista derby with Palmeiras on the 8th of March.
